2. Botanic Source
Centella asiatica (scientific name: Herba Asari) is a perennial herbaceous plant, which belongs to parasitic plants and gets its name from the roots of coniferous plants. It is mainly distributed in deep mountains, woodlands, river valleys, karst areas and alpine areas in Northeast China, North China, and Southwest China.
Centella asiatica is 40-90 cm high, and the whole plant is glabrous; the receptacle is drooping in the shape of cabbage, and the small flowers are purplish red and oval.
Centella asiatica mostly grows in the undergrowth and grass. It parasitizes the roots of Pinaceae and other plants with vegetative organs, and can also grow in rock crevices.
