What is Cosmetics Ingredients?

Baicalin(BA), chemically known as BA, is a flavonoid compound consisting of D-glucose combined with BA (baicalein) through a glycosidic bond. It is mainly found in the rhizome part of the traditional Chinese medicine Scutellaria baicalensis, but can also be obtained from the ethanol extract or aqueous extract of Scutellaria baicalensis. BA has various pharmacological activities and medical applications, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, antibacterial and antiviral effects.

What is Thiamidol?

Thiamidol, whose scientific name is isobutyrylaminothiazolylresorcinol, is an active ingredient used for whitening and lightening spots. Compared with traditional hydroquinone and resorcinol derivatives (such as 377), Thiamidol exhibits excellent whitening effects and lower side effects. Although hydroquinone has long been regarded as the gold standard for whitening and depigmentation, its cytotoxicity and long-term use may cause depigmentation (ie, vitiligo) and exogenous ochronosis (rare), which limits its application in cosmetics. Today, most countries do not allow the addition of hydroquinone in cosmetics, and it is mainly used as a drug.

What is Natural Ginger Oil?

Ginger oil is an essential oil extracted from the rhizome of the ginger plant. Research into the benefits of ginger oil indicates that it has anti-inflammatory properties and that it could be helpful in easing feelings of nausea.

Advantages of Baicalin Powder

01/

Relaxation and Stress Release – Skullcap for Calm!
Studies have suggested that baicalin powder powder has the potential for strong stress relief and relaxation benefits. baicalin powder acts on the GABA receptors in your brain, which are your body’s natural relaxation receptors. The GABA hormone is produced by your brain to promote sleep, pain-relief, and relaxation.

02/

Neuroprotection – baicalin powder helps protect your brain!
Researchers have known for some time that one of the top baicalin powder benefits is its ability to produce neuroprotective effects. Remarkably, baicalin powder is able to protect nerve cells from damage in conditions of stress. Most importantly, this has been shown during brain ischemia – a lack of blood/oxygen supply in the brain.

03/

May Help to Boost Learning Capacity
Studies have indicated that baicalin powder extracts may have an ability to enhance memory and learning abilities. A number of animal studies have shown improvements in focus and memory-orientated tasks after using a baicalin powder extract.

04/

Helps Promote a Healthy Circulatory System
One important way that baicalin powder extracts help to promote a healthy circulatory system is by enhancing nitric oxide levels in your blood. Scientists have found that even a very low dosage of baicalin powder is effective at raising nitric oxide levels.

05/

Helps Promote Good Blood Glucose Levels
Blood sugar levels are especially important for people suffering from diabetes. However, maintaining healthy blood sugar levels is also important for otherwise healthy people. Animal studies have suggested that baicalin powder may have the potential to support healthy blood sugar levels. For example, studies have found that baicalin powder improve the functions of AMPK enzyme, which is known to reduce blood sugar levels.

06/

Helps Reduce Inflammation
Baicalin powder extracts have strong anti-inflammatory effects. This is especially relevant to macrophages and immune cells. Macrophages are immune cells that are involved in your body’s inflammation response. Macrophages are specifically involved in the initiation, maintenance, and resolution of inflammation.

Use & Benefits Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract

Anti-inflammatory Properties

Skullcap extract contains compounds with potent anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it useful in reducing inflammation associated with skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Skullcap extract can also be used to soothe and calm irritated skin.

Antioxidant Benefits

The root extract of the Scutellaria baicalensis plant is rich in antioxidants, which help protect the skin from free radical damage. Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage cells and contribute to the development of signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

Skin Brightening

Skullcap extract can be beneficial in brightening and evening out skin tone. This is due to the presence of flavonoids in the extract, which help to inhibit the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

Anti-Aging Effects

The antioxidants in skullcap extract can also help to prevent the breakdown of collagen, a protein that gives the skin its elasticity and firmness. This means that regular use of skullcap extract in skincare products may help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and keep the skin looking youthful.

Moisturizing Properties

Skullcap extract has moisturizing properties, which help to keep the skin hydrated and plump. This makes it a useful ingredient in skincare formulations designed to combat dryness and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

Wound Healing

Skullcap extract has been found to promote wound healing due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It can help reduce redness, swelling, and pain associated with minor skin injuries and speed up the healing process.

Anti-Microbial Properties

The flavonoids present in skullcap extract have also been found to possess antimicrobial properties. This makes it a useful ingredient in skincare products designed to combat acne and other skin infections caused by bacteria.

UV Protection

The root extract of the Scutellaria baicalensis plant has been found to offer some protection against the harmful effects of UV radiation. This makes it a useful ingredient in sun care products.

How Does Thiamidol Address Hyperpigmentation?

Melanin is the brown pigment that determines the colour of our skin. The production of melanin in our skin depends on many different factors, such as the strength of the sun's rays and duration of sun exposure.

Sometimes, due to hormone changes during pregnancy, inflammation, in the form of acne or due to the ageing process of the skin, our skin cells only produce more melanin in small areas and thus irregular pigmentation occurs. This is understood as hyperpigmentation, melasma or age spots.

Pigmentation occurs when the enzyme tyrosinase converts the amino acid tyrosine into melanin. With increased activation, this enzyme can produce more melanin and the skin can appear darker in some areas. These dark marks and pigment spots on the skin are quite common but can be distressing when noticeable.

Thiamidol effectively reduces melanin production by blocking the enzyme tyrosinase, which converts the amino acid tyrosine into melanin. Less melanin is transported from the basal layer of the skin to the top of the skin and with that, pigment spots gradually fade and are prevented from reappearing.

Practical Tips for Using Thiamidol in Your Skincare Routine

Incorporating thiamidol
For optimal results, apply thiamidol twice daily. You’ll find thiamidol serums, moisturizing creams with and without SPF and a tinted suncreen on the market. Consider using a sunscreen with thiamidol to protect against harmful UV rays while reducing hyperpigmentation.

Thiamidol and pregnancy
While there have been no specific studies conducted on the use of thiamidol during pregnancy, no concerns have been raised in the scientific literature regarding its safety for pregnant individuals. However, if you are unsure, it’s always wise to consult with your physician.

Effective concentration

The effective concentration of thiamidol starts at 0.2%.

Combining thiamidol with other actives

You can combine thiamidol with other brightening and anti-pigmentation actives in your skincare routine, such as vitamin C (ascorbic acid), niacinamide, azelaic acid, and retinoids like retinol and retinal.

Patience is key: when to expect results

You could see the first positive results between 2-4 weeks after starting your twice-daily thiamidol routine. The best results are typically seen after 3 months of consistent use.

How Does Natural Ginger Oil Work?

Ginger essential oil is rich in antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that are derived from two compounds called monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes.

Once inhaled via diffusion or applied to the skin after being diluted with a carrier oil, these compounds work to combat the negative effects of free radicals, which can reduce inflammation and prevent related cell damage.

From supporting digestion and relieving cold symptoms to regenerating the skin and providing pain relief, ginger oil offers a wide range of health benefits that can be used to treat a host of ailments that affect both body and mind.

Benefits of Natural Ginger Oil

Support better digestion
When it comes to treating gastric complaints, ginger essential oil is often seen as the go-to option for many people. This has also been backed up by various studies over the years.

Ease cold symptoms
It is a long-held belief in many households that ginger can prove very effective at reducing cold symptoms. This is because it is a natural expectorant, helping mucus to move through blocked airways, whilst also flushing away harmful bacteria.

Offer pain relief
Ginger oil contains a component called zingiberene, that has been found to have significant pain-relieving properties. This was put to the test by researchers in 2001 who found that ginger oil was linked to the reduction of inflammation-induced pain and proved effective at treating symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee.

Lift low moods
The warm, stimulating properties of ginger essential oil is enjoyed through diffusion by many people who rely on the fragrance to manage feelings of stress or anxiety. A study in 2010 found that the human serotonin receptor could be triggered through interaction with ginger oil.

Improve skin condition
The antioxidant properties contained in ginger essential oil offer protection against free radicals that are responsible for several issues, such as premature ageing. These properties can restore elasticity to the skin, whilst other ginger oil benefits can also work as an astringent, which can reduce hyperpigmentation, scars and blemishes.

Treat and heal infections
The antiseptic properties of ginger essential oil can prove effective at tackling infections caused by microorganisms and bacteria. This includes bacterial dysentery, food poisoning and intestinal infections. Scientists have also learned that the oil contains antifungal properties.

Strengthen heart health
Cholesterol levels and blood clotting could also be addressed through the consumption of ginger, although these findings are purely preliminary at this stage. The ability to lower cholesterol levels and blood clotting could offer a natural treatment for various heart diseases, reducing the likelihood of blood vessels becoming blocked and heart attacks occurring.

Boost sex drive
Ginger oil uses are wide and varied, and its benefits also extend to addressing issues such as loss of libido and impotence. Whilst research is limited in this area, studies have found that ginger can help to increase blood flow, which could enhance libido and sexual arousal.

Improve liver function
The potential and hepatoprotective activity of ginger essential oil was put through its paces by researchers in a 2013 animal study. They investigated how effective it could be at treating alcoholic fatty liver disease, which is closely associated with liver cancer and hepatic cirrhosis.

Help improve sleep patterns
Whilst there are other essential oils like lavender that are closely associated with aiding sleep, diffused ginger essential oil can also offer some support. The warm and spicy notes of the oil are perfect for aromatherapy, providing a sense of comfort and relaxing calm.

How to Use Natural Ginger Oil

As an aromatherapy oil

Introducing aromatherapy practices into your daily routine can help you experience some of the many ginger oil benefits it has to offer. To diffuse the oil, mix 5-7 drops with water and add to an oil burner or diffuser, which will slowly release the aroma into the room. Alternatively, you can add a few drops to a tissue or inhale directly from the bottle.

As a skincare solution

The antibacterial properties of ginger essential oil can help when spot treating certain areas of skin, whilst also working as a skin-tightening cleanser. Before applying to the skin, mix a couple of drops with a carrier oil (such as jojoba oil or sweet almond oil) or your favourite skincare lotion and apply evenly into the target areas.

To ease nausea

Wholesale essential ginger oil can also be used to help combat nausea, as evidenced by a 2017 study. Participants reported significantly reduced symptoms when they inhaled the essential oil compared to those who received a placebo.

As a spray

While diffusing wholesale essential ginger oil is a great way to freshen up a room, sprays can be equally effective. Simply add a few drops to a spray bottle of water and use it to freshen linens or eliminate bad smells.

How Do You Make Natural Ginger Oill at Home?

While you can buy the powerful oil in stores, you can also make it yourself—and it's not nearly as complicated as you'd think: All it takes is one cup fresh ginger root, one-and-a-half cups olive oil, and a few simple steps. After rinsing the ginger—skin included—let it sit out until it dries, which might take two to three hours. Once dry, take a cheese grater and shred it, adding it into an oven-safe bowl as you go. Then, pour in the olive oil and put the mix in the oven at 150°F for two hours. The key is cooking the ingredients low and slow to ensure you don't burn the mixture, but rather infuse it slowly. Once the time is up, remove the bowl and pour the oil through a cheesecloth or very tight strainer into another bowl in order to get rid of all the tiny pieces of ginger. When the chunks are gone and you're left with just the smooth oil, transfer it to a clean bottle using a funnel, where it will stay fresh for up to six months as long as you keep it somewhere cool.
