US enterprises launch a natural preservative containing 98% rosmarinic acid

Blue California, a manufacturer of plant extracts and special raw materials in Southern California, announced that the company had joined hands with Conagen, a Massachusetts biotechnology company, to launch Rosavel, a natural preservative.
Rosavel is a natural preservative solution containing 98% high-purity rosmarinic acid. It adopts a biotransformation process that can remove the pigment and taste of rosemary.
Rosmarinic acid is a naturally occurring polyphenol compound in rosemary, which contains a variety of natural antioxidants and has antibacterial properties, so it is an ideal choice of preservatives.
Casey Lippmeier, vice president of innovation of Conagen, said: "The launch of Rosavel shows that Conagen is rapidly developing sustainable plant based raw materials to optimize the existing options on the market. We are expanding our scale to push it and other similar new raw materials to the market."
