1.1 Active ingredients
The active components extracted and isolated from asparagus are mainly amino acids, polysaccharides, saponins, etc.
(1) Amino acids: 19 kinds of amino acids such as aspartamide and glutamic acid, glutamic acid, phenylalanine, citrulline, serine, threonine, proline, and glycine.
(2) Saponins: containing steroidal saponins, the aglycones of which are smilagenin, diosgenin, salsa aglycin, and yamsapogenin, which are composed of rhamnose, xylose and glucose.
(3) Polysaccharides: glucose, fructose, trisaccharide (I), tetrasaccharide (I), pentasaccharide (III), hexasaccharide (III), octasaccharide (v), nonaglycan ( vI ) and ten polysaccharides (VII), 5-methoxymethyl uronic acid, new ketoses, oligosaccharides and mucilage, etc.

[Plant morphology] Perennial Chemicalbook climbing herb. Root tubers are fleshy, fusiform, clustered. The stem is slender, often twisted and branched. The leafy branches are 2~3 clusters of leaf axils, linear, flat, 1~3 cm long, 1 mm wide, and the apex is acute. The leaves degenerate into scales, and the scales on the main stem degenerate into downward curved thorns. Flowers 1~3 clustered in leaf axils, light green or white; Perianth segments 6, 2-whorled; Stamens 6, anthers T-shaped; Pistil 1; Ovary 3. The berries are spherical and red when ripe. The flowering period is from May to June, and the fruit period is from August to October.

5.Physical and chemical identification of Asparagus Root Extract
(l) Take 25g of this product powder, add 20ml of 70% ethanol, soak in cold for 48h, take 2ml of the filtrate into a test tube, drop 1 drop of ninhydrin reagent, heat in a water bath at 100°C for 3min, take it out and cool slightly, it turns red (check amino acids).
(2) Take 1g of the powder of this product, add 10ml of distilled water, heat in a water bath for 2~3min, then filter, take 3ml of the filtrate in a test tube, add 1ml of Fehling’s reagent, heat in a water bath at 80°C for 3min, and a reddish-brown precipitate (check sugar).
(3) Take the powder of this product on a white porcelain plate, observe it under a 365nm ultraviolet lamp, and it shows milky white fluorescence. (4) Take flat slices of cross-section and observe under ultraviolet light, the phloem and xylem are blue-purple fluorescent.
(5) Take 2g of this product powder, add 15ml of methanol, soak in cold for 24h, concentrate the filtrate to dryness, add 1ml of methanol to dissolve, spot on the silica gel G thin-layer plate, develop with chloroform-methanol (1:1), under the ultraviolet light 2 blue spots are visible.
