Part2. Medicinal effects of each part
1.Marshmallow root:
Sweet, salty, slightly cold in nature. Function clearing heat and dampness, cooling blood, detoxification. Indications for stranguria syndrome, leukorrhea, dysentery, hematemesis, metrorrhagia, traumatic bleeding, sore swelling, scald.
Oral administration: decoction, 9-15g. External application: smashed for applying.
2. Marshmallow seedlings:
Stems and leaves of Marshmallow, harvested from June to October, used fresh or sun-dried. Cool in nature and sweet in taste. Function clearing heat and promoting dampness, detoxification. Indications for heat-toxin diarrhea, stranguria syndrome, nameless swollen toxin, water and fire burns, gold sores.
Oral administration: decoction, 6-18g; or boiled, or pounded into juice. External application: crushed for applying; or burnt into powder for applying. Do not eat for a long time.
3. Marshmallow seed:
Function diuretic to treat stranguria, detoxify and expel pus. Cure mainly edema, stranguria syndrome, leukorrhagia, milk blockage, sores and scabies, and nameless swollen poison.
Oral administration: decoction, 3-9g; or powdered. External application: powdered for applying. Use with caution in spleen and stomach deficiency and pregnant women.
4. Marshmallow flower:
Sweet, salty, cool in nature. Function and blood hemostasis, laxative, detoxification. Indications for vomiting blood, epistaxis, menorrhagia or menorrhagia, red and white vaginal discharge, urinary obstruction, infantile rubella, malaria, carbuncle furuncle, bee scorpion sting, etc.
Oral administration: decoction, 3-9g; or powder, 1-3g. Flowers and leaves are used externally to treat carbuncles, sores, burns and scalds.
