Part1.What is Mangifera indica leaf extract ?
Mango leaves are the leaves of Mango Mangiferaindica L. of Anacardiaceae. According to the "Dictionary of Chinese Medicine" records: mango folic acid, sweet, cool in nature. Promoting qi and dispersing stagnation, removing diarrhoea; treating abdominal pain and flatulence caused by heat stagnation; and washing rotten sores.
The main component of mango leaf extract, mangiferin, is the main active ingredient in the treatment of respiratory diseases, and has been found in other plants.
Part2. Function
Modern pharmacological studies have shown that mango leaf extract has the following effects:
1) Relieving asthma, relieving cough and eliminating phlegm
2) Anti-inflammatory and analgesic immunity
3) Antioxidant
4) Anti-diabetic
5) Antibacterial and antiviral effects
Oral administration of mangiferin can reduce blood sugar levels in KK-Ay mice, but has no effect on blood sugar levels in normal mice, suggesting that mangiferin can be used to treat non-insulin-dependent diabetes. In addition, mangiferin improved hyperinsulinemia in KK-Ay mice. Based on the above results, mangiferin may exhibit antidiabetic activity through insulin sensitization.
Part3:Application
Modern pharmacological studies have shown that the chemical components of mango leaf extract mainly include: mangiferin, homomangiferin, quercetin, gallic acid, catechol, shikimic acid, kaempferic acid, ellagic acid, thujene and volatile components . Mango leaf extract has the effect of relieving asthma, relieving cough and expectorant. Mango leaf extract has good curative effect in treating chronic bronchitis. It is the main active ingredient of Tibetan capillary in the treatment of hepatitis and the antiviral active ingredient in Anemarrhena rhizome.
