Houttuynia cordata Thunb (English name: HERBA HOUTTUYNIAE) is a herbal medicine included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The herbal medicine is derived from the dry aboveground part of Houttuynia cordata Thunb. In summer, when the stems and leaves are luxuriant and the flowers and ears are often cut, impurities are removed and dried in the sun.

Traits of herbal medicine: the stem is flat cylindrical, twisted, 20~35cm long, 0.2~0.3cm in diameter; The surface is brownish yellow, with several longitudinal ribs, obvious nodes, and there are residual fibrous roots on the lower nodes; It is fragile and easy to break.
