Polygamous, dioecious flowers, large and long panicles, opposite the leaves; peduncle without tendrils; very small, cup-shaped, entire or inconspicuous calyx with 5 teeth; petals 5, yellow-green, connate at the apex unfolded, the base is divided, and the whole falls in the shape of a cap when flowering; the stamens are 5; the disc is raised, composed of 5 glands, and the base is connected to the ovary; the ovary has 2 chambers, each chamber has 2 ovules, the style is short, conical. The berries are oval to oval-oblong, rich in juice, purplish-black or reddish-blue when ripe, covered with waxy powder. The flowering period is June. The fruiting period is from September to October.
