Purslane Extract Powder is extracted and processed from the whole plant of the Pseudostigmata genus in the family Xanthaceae, which mainly contains triterpene saponin compounds. It has pharmacological activities such as memory improvement, sedation, antiepileptic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic. The whole herb contains Bacogenin, nicotine, and betulinic acid. 【Plant morphology】Crawling herb, roots on the nodes, fleshy, hairless, physical appearance is very similar to Amaranthus. The leaves are sessile, oblong-oblanceolate, 8-20mm long, 3-6mm wide, with rounded tips and few teeth. Flowers solitary in leaf axils, pedicels 0.5-3.5cm long; 1 pair of striped bracteoles under the calyx; sepals two ovate-lanceolate before and after, the other three lanceolate to striped, about 5mm long; corolla blue, purple or white, 8-10mm long, obscurely 2-lipped, upper lip 2-lobed; stamens 4; stigma capitate. Capsule long ovate, acute apically, enclosed in a persistent calyx, 4 valves divided. Seeds ellipsoid, truncate at one end, yellowish brown, with longitudinal ribs on the surface. May to October.
