9. Benefits and Application

Benefits

9.1. Antibacterial effect
Elecampane Root Extract has strong antibacterial activity against cucumber powdery mildew, cucumber downy mildew, cucumber anthracnose, tomato Botrytis cinerea, tomato leaf mold, etc. Its antibacterial mechanism may be related to the fact that the compound's sesquiterpene lactone structure can destroy bacterial cell membranes.

9.2. Deworming effect
Inulin and its derivatives contained in the volatile oil are easily soluble in alcohol but not in water, the impure taste is bitter and has many side effects (vomiting), the chemical structure is similar to Sandonian, and its deworming effect is better than that of Sandonian, but it is inferior toxic.

Deworming effect

9.3. Liver protection
Seven kinds of sesquiterpene lactones have been isolated from the n-hexane part of Eucalyptus edulis extract.Studies have shown that these compounds have strong inhibitory activity on the proliferation of MK-1, HeLa and B16F10 cells, and have hepatoprotective effects.

Liver protection

9.4. Anti-tumor effect
Inulin extracts show highly selective cytotoxicity against 4 different cancer cell lines (HT-29, MCF-7, Capan-2 and G1), but are toxic to normal human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) but very small.

9.5. Studies have shown that it also has the effect of lowering blood sugar and regulating the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system.

Clinical application

It is traditionally used for respiratory diseases, such as expectorant and cough relieving, to treat chronic bronchitis and asthma, and to help clear mucus in the chest.
