1.What is Artichoke extract?
Cynara Scolymus Extract also known as milk thistle extract, is obtained from the leaves of the artichoke (Cynarascolymus L.) of the Compositae plant. The main active ingredients of artichoke are cynarin and chlorogenic acid.
Artichoke extract is the water extract or alcohol extract of perennial artichoke, and its main active ingredients include polyphenols, flavonoids, terpenes, etc. It has pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, liver protection, cholesterol reduction, antibacterial and gastrointestinal improvement. (2). Flavonoids: naringenin rutin, naringenin glucoside, apigenin-7-O-rutinoside, apigenin-7-O-glucoside, luteolin isolated from artichoke flower buds and leaves luteolin-7-O-rutinoside, luteolin-7-O-glucoside.
(3). Terpenoids: Cynarin, aguerinB, grosheimin, cynaracolosideA-C, cynarininB, dehydro-cynaropicrin, aguerinA, cynartriol, etc. were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of artichoke leaves.
(4). Anthocyanin compounds: containing cyanidin-3,5-dioxo-glucoside, cyanidin-3-O-glucoside, cyanidin-3,5-malonyl glucoside.

5.Extraction and Separation
5.1 Extraction of artichoke phenolic acid
