Add a decolorizing agent (powdered or granular activated carbon, kaolin, or diatomaceous earth). The dosage is 1–10 grams per liter of solution (typically 2–5 g/L). The decolorization process lasts for 20–120 minutes (typically 30–100 minutes). The temperature is controlled within the range of room temperature to boiling (in practice, it is often maintained at a gentle boil or 80–90°C). After decolorization, filter the mixture while still hot to obtain the filtrate (crude extract).
Acid Precipitation, Crystallization, And Purification
Adjust the pH of the aforementioned filtrate (crude extract) to 1–2 (using inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid).
